Do I need to use this form?

All of our retailers must use this form to request images from Ganz. Paper fax-form requests will no longer be accepted beginning January 1st, 2007.

Why do you need to know all this information – catalog, customer name, customer account number, catalog, page #, item #, product name, year? It’s just so much information!

To ensure that only registered and legitimate retailers such as you gain access to our product images, we need to know who is requesting the images. And by providing page #’s, catalog and other information on the actual images desired, the time required to provide them is considerably shortened. It is very difficult to identify images without this information.

What if I want the mood or model shot as well as the product shot of an item?

We endeavor to provide the relevant mood or model shots with product shots requested. However, some mood or model shots may not be associated with the product you request in our system, even if they are together on the page you are viewing. Thus, it is possible you may not receive a mood/model shot you want. To help ensure this doesn’t happen, please use the comments section to record the catalog, page # and position (top left, top right, center, bottom right, etc) of the desired mood/model shot.

What happens after I submit my request?

Your request is automatically sent for verification. If for any reason we are unable to satisfy your request we will contact you promptly; otherwise you can expect to receive your images in 4 – 6 business days.

How will I receive my files using the Image Request Form page?

Files will in most cases be emailed to you. If the file sizes are greater than can typically be handled by email (approximately 5 megs) they will be sent to you according to the Alternate Delivery method you selected (FTP, shipping on CD via courier, etc).

What is and how do I use FTP (File-Transfer-Protocol)?

If we cannot email you the file and you select FTP as your alternate means of receiving images, we will email you details on how to download the files.

FTP is a means of transmitting files quickly between websites and computers. You will need to use an FTP client to access your files. Many FTP programs such as AceFTP are free to use, others require purchase. Almost any FTP program will suffice for Image Request purposes.

If you choose to receive files by FTP, you will need to enter our FTP server address, (204.50.157.76) along with a unique user name and password, which will be emailed to you when your order is ready. This email will also provide the name of the file you are downloading, as well as the password you will need to uncompress it.

When are images removed from the FTP Download Site?

All images on Ganz FTP Servers will be removed after 5 business days of your notification email.

What kind of files will I receive? Are they compressed file formats or do they come ready to use?

You will receive compressed versions of .eps or jpg file format photos. All files that are transferred electronically (email & FTP) have been compressed (zipped) for efficient & reliable transfer from us to you. These files should be saved to your desktop and must be decompressed before they can be used.

Most modern operating systems will be able to decompress these file without the aid of a third party application by just double clicking on it. However you may need to download a free copy of StuffIt Expander or winzip.

You can download these programs free of charge here:

  • For Macintosh Computers: http://www.stuffit.com/mac/index.html
  • For Windows Computers: http://www.stuffit.com/win/index.html
  • Please follow the documentation provided by these programs to unzip your files, we are unable to provide technical support in decompressing (unzipping) files.

What do I need to open or manipulate the images? Can Ganz help me put the image up on my website?

To open the images we recommend using a photo management program such as PhotoShop or PaintShop. We are unable to provide technical support on how to use these images or to post them to your website, therefore please ensure you consult your own technical resources before ordering. Please note that your ability to use or manipulate our images is defined by our terms and conditions.

What can I do with the images?

Generally speaking you may use our images on your own store website and other printed promotional material, as long as they comply with our terms and conditions.

    What images are available?

As a general rule, images that have appeared in print material (Catalogue, Brochure or Sell Sheet) are available.

What if I don’t know the images I want to request or I don’t know the image’s item number or need help?
